ATTENTION - FOR
CONCURRENT COURSES
Students are advised, in their own interest, to
start attending concurrent/ theory/practical
classes, as they will otherwise be detained, as
per University rules.
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT
All students are required to attend tutorial
classes and submit written assignments. Classes
will be divided into groups, according to
subjects/papers, for this purpose. Attendance in
tutorials is compulsory. Students in Honours
courses are given assignments on a weekly basis
whereas Pass course students are given
assignments on a bi-weekly basis.
EXAMINATIONS
As per Delhi University rules, 25% of the
maximum marks in each paper, in
undergraduate courses, is assigned for Internal
Assessment and the remaining 75% marks for
the annual / semester University examination.
The time duration and other modalities of the
annual /semester examination with respect to
this 75% component shall remain as per existing
schemes of examination for various
undergraduate courses. The 25% of maximum
marks assigned for Internal Assessment will be
divided in the following manner :-
- 10% weightage will be given to the house
examination that shall be conducted at the end
of the 2nd Term or the beginning of the 3rd
term. The duration of each paper in the house
examination shall be the same as in the
University Examination. The maximum marks in
each paper of the house Examination shall be
100 or the same as the maximum marks in the
corresponding University Examination. The
marks obtained shall be scaled down appropriately
carrying fractions wherever they occur.
- 10% weightage will be given to written
assignments / tutorials as well as project reports /
term papers / seminars. Each student shall be given
at least one written assignment per paper in each term for all the papers taken together.
- 5% weightage will be given for regularity in
attending lectures and tutorials. The credit for
regularity in attendance in each paper is as
follows:
More than 67% but less than 70% - 1 mark
70% or more but less than 75% - 2 marks
75% or more but less than 80% - 3 marks
80% or more but less than 85% - 4 marks
85% and above - 5 marks
Attendance will be given for the period of absence
due to illness, on the basis of a proper medical
certificate, but no marks will be credited for such
attendance.
It is absolutely mandatory for all students to adhere
to Internal Assessment rules. Students are advised to
take the Internal Assessment in all seriousness as
Internal Assessment marks will affect the overall
performance in the Annual Examination.
- UNIVERSITY EXAMINATIONS AND
SUBMISSION OF EXAMINATION FORMS.
The University of Delhi holds Annual Examinations
at the end of each academic year. Examinations for
the three year degree courses are held at the end of
the Ist, IInd and IIIrd years. Examinations for the
Concurrent subjects are held along with the main
paper at the time of the annual examinations.
The application forms for various University Annual
Examinations are filled in by the students and
submitted, along with the prescribed examination
fees, in the month of September and for various
supplementary examinations in the month of July.
The college holds no responsibility for not allowing
students to appear in various examinations if the
student has failed to deposit the examination form
and fees at the right time. No examination form
will be received after the last date as notified by the
University.
Failed students will not be re-admitted to the same
class. They will have to appear as ex-students.
