STUDENTS' UNION
The Deshbandhu Evening College Students'
Union is affiliated to the Delhi University
Students' Union (DUSU). Guided by faculty
advisors, the Students Union is responsible for
enriching the cultural and academic life of the
institution. Among other activities it organizes
the annual cultural festival of the college and
various educational trips.
SPORTS, N.C.C. AND N.S.S.

The college provides facilities for various sports
activities. There is a playing field for cricket,
football, volleyball, kho-kho and athletics.
Indoor games like table tennis, badminton,
chess and carom are also encouraged. Special
attention is paid to weightlifting and power
lifting.
The college has a unit of the National Cadet
Corps. Rifle shooting can be practiced in the
Firing Range on the college grounds.
The National Service Scheme was introduced
in the college in 1975. It has fostered the active participation of student volunteers in the
tasks of nation building and development.
COMMERCE SOCIETY
Constituted last year, this society of Commerce
Department students and teachers organized two seminars with specialist speakers from
both academia and industry.
ECO CLUB
Eco-Club volunteers try to generate
environmental awareness through various
activities, including competitions, workshops,
seminars and lectures..
ENGLISH LITERARY
ASSOCIATION
This society has students of the English
Department as well as of the Film Studies
Course as its members. It organises various
indoor and outdoor activities for its
members as well as regular film screenings
PLACEMENT CELL
The college has a Placement Cell under the
supervision of a faculty member, which
provides career guidance and placement
assistance to students.
COMPULSORY TEST IN HINDI
All students (except foreign nationals) who have
not studied Hindi at all or studied it upto a
level lower than Class VIII are required to pass
a Compulsory Test in Hindi conducted by the
University. Such students should inform the
College Office about their cases by the 16th of
August, at the latest. However, those students
who did not offer Hindi at the Class X or XII
level, but have passed Class VIII with Hindi,
must submit a certificate to this effect from
the Head of the School for exemption from the
Compulsory Test in Hindi.
