IDENTITY CARD

College CafeIdentity Cards are issued to all students of the college. A student should ensure that the particulars in the Identity Card filled by him/her are correct. A student is required to produce the Identity Card whenever demanded by any authority of the college.

The Identity Card needs to be renewed every year. A new Identity Card is issued only on the submission of the earlier Card.

In case of loss of the Identity Card the student needs to produce a copy of the F.I.R for the issue of a duplicate Identity Card. A penalty of Rs. 125/- will be charged from a student for the issue of a duplicate ID Card.

ONLY STUDENTS WITH PROPER IDENTITY CARDS ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE COLLEGE CAMPUS.

ATTENDANCE

ALL CLASSES COMMENCE ON THE 16TH OF JULY 2009. ATTENDANCE WILL BE MARKED FROM THIS DAY.

ATTENDANCE REGULATIONS

I. Students are required to attend at least two thirds of all Lectures/Tutorials/ Practicals in different subjects and the concurrent courses.

II. No student shall be allowed to take the University Examination unless he/she has satisfied the attendance requirement of the University.

III. In case of illness, a student must inform the College office and submit a Medical Certificate within a week of his/her rejoining after recovering from illness.

IV. If the Medical Certificate is not submitted in the above mentioned period, no benefit in attendance will be given.

V. Students participating in co-curricular activities/sports etc. should apply in writing, giving the specific dates of participation in
such activities, after getting the necessary recommendation, on the application, from the concerned teacher.

VI. No admit card will be issued against payment of the fine in lieu of shortage of attendance.

VII. Students are required to check their attendance position in the college office at the end of each term.

ADMISSION UNDER SPORTS QUOTA – ELIGIBILITY

The College has a few seats under the sports quota. The date for admission on this basis shall be notified.

The level of competence in sports will be determined only if the candidate has achieved distinction in sports in the last 3 years.
Preference will be given to those sports in which Delhi University Inter-College and Inter- University competitions are held.

The following is the order of preference for admission, under sports quota, to the under graduate courses.

  1. Candidates who have represented India in an event/game at the international level (Certificate from the Ministry of Sports/Sports Federations is to be submitted.)
  2. Candidates who have participated in any event/game in a Junior National Championship (Certificate from the National Federation of the concerned game is to be submitted)
  3. Candidates who have participated in National School Games either securing 1st, 2nd or 3rd Position in an individual event or becoming a winner/Runner-up in a team event. (Certificate from the National School Games Federation / Directorate - Education of the concerned state is to be submitted.)
  4. Candidates who have participated in the All India Rural Sports and Women’s Sports Festival, securing 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in an individual or team event. (Certificate from the National Institute of Sports is to be submitted).
  5. Candidates who have participated in Inter Zonal Tournaments and secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in an individual event. (Certificate from the Director of Education of the concerned state is to be submitted.)

Applications should be submitted on plain paper with photocopies of sports' certificates and the candidate's photograph. The last date for admission under sports quota is 6th July, 2009.

ADMISSION UNDER CULTURE QUOTA

A few seats are reserved in all courses under the cultural quota. The Cultural Committee of the college will allot seats after an interview/cultural performance.

MIGRATION

No inter college migration is allowed in the 2nd and 3rd years.

DISCIPLINE

A student is expected to observe all the disciplinary rules of the college as laid down by the Delhi University ordinances. Strict action will be taken against students who break disciplinary rules. The following are some of the acts that are treated as acts of indiscipline:

  1. Causing disturbance in the class, the office, the library or on the games field.
  2. Disobeying the instructions of any teacher or any other higher authority.
  3. Misconduct or misbehavior of any nature at the time of elections to the student bodies or at a meeting or during curricular or extra curricular activities.
  4. Misconduct or misbehavior of any nature towards a teacher or any employee of the University or the institution, or any member of the statutory body of the University or any visitor to the University or the institution.
  5. Causing damage to the furniture or any other property of the institution.
  6. Any practice, verbal or otherwise, derogatory to women.
  7. Carrying or use of threat to use any weapon.
  8. Any attempt at bringing or abetting corruption in any manner.
  9. Ragging in any form.
  10. Inciting others to do any of the acts aforesaid.


The Discipline Committee of the college is vested with the power to investigate and decide whether a student/students is/are guilty and decide the punishment (if any). The Principal has the right to take action whenever there is a breach of discipline.

THE COLLEGE MAGAZINE

The college magazine - 'Aloka Tirtha' is published annually as a forum for the creativity of students and teachers. Students on the editorial team get the invaluable experience of helping to bring out a magazine from start to finish.

THE COLLEGE CAFE

The cafeteria within the college compound offers hot and cold beverages and light snacks. It becomes a hub of activity in the evening hours with groups of students relaxing between classes.

THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

We are proud of our alumni, many of whom have distinguished themselves in different walks of life. We are now in the process of forming an alumni association.

OFFICE WORKING HOURS : 2.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
STUDENT DEALING : 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
COLLEGE RE-OPENING : 16th JULY, 2009
VACATIONS : 1st OCT. - 15th OCT., 2009 - AUTUMN BREAK
